The water flows over my body, and I feel it searching for a path. It curves around my shoulder blades, falls into my lower back, and runs down my legs. I close my eyes and become a riverbed.
Then the water gets cooler. I change the temperature myself. To invigorate my body. To remind it that it is alive. That it can feel not only warmth, but also cold.
The smell of the gel explodes into steam. Today it smells of salt and wind. I scoop up the foam in my palm and begin to touch myself. Slowly. Honestly. My hands slide over my wet skin, and I feel every fold, every curve, every muscle.
And suddenly — the moment. When water and body become one. When you can’t tell where I end and the flow begins. We mix. Fluidly. We breathe in unison. I dissolve in the water, and the water dissolves in me.
